MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS

Our hardworking healthcare workers are currently facing an unprecedented emergency in the face of COVID-19. To respond to the pressure healthcare workers may be facing, Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and University of Massachusetts (UMass) are launching free interactive webinars to provide support. This will hopefully provide the care, connection, and support that these crucial workers need, especially in a time like this.

These webinars are hosted by Dr. Tina Runyan and Dr. Joan Fleishman, both having specialized expertise in supporting health care workers. To register for the first webinar, Conversation for Clinicians, click https://www.crowdcast.io/e/cnlnhhkb/register

It will be offered twice, on Saturday March 28 at 12 pm EDT and Sunday March 29 at 7 pm EDT. Topics that are included in this webinar are:

  • Putting your own oxygen mask on first

  • Leading residents and learners in times of uncertainty

  • Regulating the nervous system

  • Managing secondary stress

  • Sharing experiences with others

  • Rethinking the basics: sleep, food, exercise, social connection

Future topics, dates, and webinars are currently TBD.
