Utilizing the most innovative technologies we can connect with our patients using high-definition video and audio in HIPAA-compliant visits, from the convenience of your smart phone or mobile devices.

In some cases, your healthcare team can monitor your vital signs, discuss your health needs, and even provide (non-controlled) substance prescriptions or medical marijuana evaluations.

On March 13, 2015, the State of New York passed Senate Bill 2405, “The Telehealth Amendment Act” allowing for “the use of electronic information and communication technologies by telehealth providers, to deliver health care services, which shall include the assessment, diagnosis, consultation, treatment, education, care management and/or self-management, of a patient.” With the passage of Assembly Bill 6357, New York law allows for the use of telemedicine to obtain a compassionate care or medical marijuana evaluation.

March 13, 2020, President Donald Trump, issued a National State of Emergency, where Federal restrictions have been lifted for Telehealth. NYS Medicaid expanded coverage of telehealth services in 2019. Per Insurance Law and Public Health Law, services that are covered under a comprehensive health insurance policy or contract cannot be excluded when the service is delivered via telehealth. To the extent it is practical, the Department encourages the use of telehealth to provide COVID–19 related services to Medicaid members. PARK AVENUE MEDICINE & SURGERY will now offer Telemedicine to discerning patients who value high quality medical doctor care all through their smart phone.

Please note: When the doctor makes a Telemedicine visit it is a premium fee-for-service option with payment due at time of scheduling, however, we will be happy to provide a bill for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
