Super Doctors’ – “Rising Star” List 2016 - Karan Johar, MD

We are proud to announce that, for the third consecutive year, Dr. Karan Johar has been selected for a place on Super Doctors’ prestigious “Rising Star” list, an honor reserved for fewer than 2.5% of New York physicians.

Given a single question: “If you needed medical care in one of the following specialties, which doctor would you choose?,” over 40,000 medical professionals nominated doctors who they felt were the best in their fields. These professionals took care in choosing fellow doctors who they would visit in the event of their own medical necessity. The nominees ultimately present as physicians who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. 

In selecting physicians for Super Doctors, Key Professional Media underwent an extensive nomination and research process, including the initial survey of doctors, evaluation of candidates by the research staff, a panel review of candidates, and a final standing and discipline confirmation of each candidate. Candidates were evaluated on 10 indicators of peer recognition and achievement, such as hospital appointments, professional activities, leadership positions, board certifications, academic achievements, and publications. 

As the Medical Director of NYC Pain Specialists, Dr. Johar looks to continue his hard work serving patients from all over the country, using his expertise to treat ailing patients in 2016 and beyond.
